Backstory, Part 1

Backstory, Part 1

Stories get longer as time goes on.  I will condense this one to save everyone time.  In 1983, I inquired with the neighbourhood computer store about a summer job.  I'm not sure why Mr. Barnes decided to hire a 13yr old, but I am grateful he did.  While everyone else had summer holidays through their high school years, I sold Apple IIs at Computer Warehouse.  After high school, I worked full-time for the next three years eventually running the store for Jim.

After a misstep with an office supplies company, I came back to work in computer sales & service, this time with Memory Lane Computers.   While there, I took training and became an Apple System Engineer.

My next stop was at the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School board as their Applied Technolgy Systems Coordinator.  The connection with the students & teachers is an unforgettable experience for me.

It also caused the re-evaluation of my goals and led me back to retail.
